The GM seed combines as many as 8 different herbicide tolerance and pest protection genes.   SmartStax is jointly developed and marketed by Dow AgroSciences and Missouri-based agricultural solutions provider Monsanto (MON) following a cross licensing and research and development collaboration agreement in 2007.   SmartStax has received registration from the ...

Energtek, Inc. (EGTK.PK) Promises a Cleaner World

QualityStocks (June 30th, 2009) Writes:

Energtek, Inc., world leader in the development of ANG (Adsorbed Natural Gas) technology, sees itself as offering a solution to a host of world environmental problems. By using ANG technology to provide more efficient and cost effective natural gas storage and transportation, Energtek allows the use of natural gas (NG) in vehicles and locations not previously possible. In so doing, the many environmental advantages of NG are greatly expanded. This is especially true in Asia where ANG means natural gas can now be inexpensively transported to remote locations not served by the region’s limited pipeline infrastructure. In addition, millions of 2- and 3-wheeled vehicles, so common in Asia and other developing areas, can now be converted to NG.

One of the most beneficial applications of natural gas is as an automotive fuel because it greatly reduces pollution compared to other combustible fuels. Natural gas

Middlesex Water Company Partners with EPA’s WaterSense Program

Dawn Van Zant (April 21st, 2009) Writes:
ISELIN, NJ, April 20, 2009 Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ:MSEX) a provider of water, wastewater and related services in New Jersey and Delaware, today announced it has teamed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) WaterSense Program to help consumers save water for future generations and reduce costs on their utility bills.

Energtek, Inc. (EGTK.OB) Recognizes the Many Benefits of Natural Gas

QualityStocks (April 9th, 2009) Writes:

Energtek, Inc., a commercial distributor of natural gas to emerging markets using proprietary ANG (Adsorbed Natural Gas) technology, tailors its solutions to the growing market of 2- and 3-wheel vehicles in Asia, as well as the global Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) market, and pipeless, domestic gas supply markets serving industrial and manufacturing sectors.

There are many advantages to natural gas. First, it is more evenly distributed around the globe than oil and – with the constantly rising cost of oil (and, as a result, gasoline) – makes more sense than gasoline, both financially and in terms of resources. Second, natural gas burns cleaner than gasoline. In fact, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says that natural gas vehicle fueling eliminates evaporative emissions; emits little or no particulate matter; reduces carbon monoxide emissions 90 to 97 percent; reduces nitrogen oxide emissions from 35 to 60 percent; potentially reduces

Surprise! Coal Nuclear Power are Keys to Obama’s Energy Plan

Contrarian Profits (December 12th, 2008) Writes:

President-elect Barack Obama has made no bones about wanting to jump-start the renewable energy markets – pledging $150 billion for the development of biofuels, solar and wind power, other alternative energy sources during his first term.

But what might the new administration mean for more traditional – and more reliable –energy sources?

Oil is always the first energy source to spring to mind. But it’s hardly a solo act – coal and nuclear make up the other two-thirds of the top fuel trio. Coal delivers 50% of U.S. electricity needs, and nuclear power brings another 20% to the table.

The cold truth is that demand for energy of all types – and especially electricity – is going to keep advancing, domestically and worldwide. And developing alternatives to coal and nuclear will take time. For instance, tying wind and solar into the existing power grid will be enormously expensive and is likely

CleanTech Biofuels, Inc. (CLTH.OB) Adds Value by Cleaning & Separating

QualityStocks (November 4th, 2008) Writes:

CleanTech Biofuels, Inc. (CLTH.OB) is taking a step at reducing the amount of waste communities dispose of into landfills. From the 250 million tons of garbage American produce annually, about 14% is burned at combustion facilities while 32% are composted or recycled. Rather than placing the remaining 54% of municipal solid waste (MSW) directly into landfills, CleanTech has a set of technologies that is capable of converting the cellulosic material in MSW into locally produced biofuels. One main element of the process is CleanTech’s Pressurized Stem Classification (PSC) technology that separates and cleans the usable material.

MSW consists of a variety of waste material from air conditioners to yard waste to aluminum cans. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, 50 to 60 percent of MSW is made of cellulosic material that can be converted into usable biofuels. Currently, the only operating waste-to-energy
