Taking Advantage of the ‘New Media’ Boom

Contrarian Profits (August 17th, 2009) Writes:

Imagine waking up tomorrow morning with no access to the Internet. No e-mail. No news. No streaming video.

Even though the Internet as we know it is only a couple of decades old, this is still a difficult scenario to comprehend. Entire businesses - literally thousands upon thousands of jobs - exist because of the web.

Now we’re entering an age of Web convergence. Every single element of our old media - radio, television and print - is migrating to the Internet at breakneck speeds.

Within the next five years, the depth of offerings on the Internet and the global population connected to them will grow exponentially. In fact, the worldwide Internet economy is now growing at such a rate it will be next to impossible for content providers to keep up…

Bandwidth is being eaten up left and right by more data-intensive offerings, such as streaming video. Young people are also gobbling up

How the Economic Rebound and China’s Emergence Will Help Create a $300 Trillion Profit Opportunity For Investors

William Patalon (August 12th, 2009) Writes:

Grow Rich Automatically with the World’s Only Gold-Backed “Cash” The U.S. Treasury Dept. has finally approved the new gold-backed “cash.” And according to gold expert Peter Schiff, this new money, called “Gold Dollars,” is not only the best place for your savings today… it could prove very profitable. Why? Because every “dollar” you hold in your bank account is backed by 1 gram of solid gold, held in Fort Knox-like security. So when each gram of gold goes up in value, so does your cash! (Meanwhile, you can spend your money just like you would regular paper dollars.) For Schiff’s full report, please go here.

What’s the name of the world’s best-selling beer?

Hint: It’s not Budweiser. And it’s not Bud Light.

It’s called Snow Beer, and I’ll wager that most U.S. investors haven’t even heard of it before.

If they haven’t, it’s not a surprise. You see, Snow Beer …

“What do we think CFS is?” Dr. William Reeves asked a worldwide audience watching his streaming video presentation from the meeting for the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Advisory Committee (CFSAC) of the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC. on Thursday. “It’s a complex illness, with alterations in complex homeostatic systems. It’s not the result of a single mutation or a single environmental factor. It comes from a combination of many factors: genetics, gender, stressors, immune stressors all interact.”

Earn Good Grades with Blackboard

Bullish Bankers (April 10th, 2009) Writes:

Over the past decade there has been a noticeable shift within the field of education and a strong push for continued integration of technology in education. The newly-elected administration understands this world-wide shift and understands America is currently behind the curve as far as education is concerned. To combat this, the administration is concentrating its efforts on increasing the quality of America’s education, resources for required for this education, and technology in the classroom. Thus, education IT seems to be a favorable sub-sector in the long run, and should experience growth in the future, well beyond that which it had previously seen with the emergence of the computer.

Within this subsector there are many small regional private companies along with some larger companies traded on foreign exchanges, but

CenturyTel (CTL): Cash In On America’s Digital Revolution

Irwin Greenstein (January 26th, 2009) Writes:

A significant piece of legislation that is part of President Obama’s stimulus package could open parts of the U.S. to new high-speed Internet services – giving local economies a boost. If so, we’ve identified one company that investors should consider buying in anticipation of a key piece of legislation that was passed last week.

High-speed Internet can exert a profound impact on how local businesses and consumers improve their own personal productivity and expand their entertainment venues. Our thinking here is very much along the lines of our “Cell Phone Indicator” that we use in emerging markets – improved communications boost the local economy.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee approved $6 billion in rules for billions in government funds to spur high-speed Internet networks in unserved and underserved areas.

The Internet funding portion of the stimulus bill — a potential huge boon to phone, cable, and wireless companies – helps fulfill President
