New Research Suggests Stocks and Warrants Going Higher, Gold less so

Lorimer Wilson (September 21st, 2009) Writes:

New research by Morgan Stanley Europe and Merrill Lynch Asia confirms old moving average based research by Stan Weinstein that the on-going upswing in the S&P 500 and other market indices around the world quite possibly has much further to go in this current bull run albeit with some volatility along the way. That could well have negative implications for the short-term price of gold bullion but, fortunately for the ‘gold bugs’ to be found in every room, continuing bright prospects for the stocks and warrants of gold and silver mining and royalty companies are expected.

Below is this week’s table showing the relatively poor performance of gold YTD (albeit not so for silver!) as compared to the HUI, GDM and CDNX in spite of closing above $1000 for the second consecutive week. Also note that the relatively unknown and misunderstood asset class of long-term warrants associated with commodity-related companies …

Ten Greatest Investment Books-Ever

Kingsley Anderson (January 14th, 2009) Writes:

I understand this is a bold claim. Of course, everyone has their different opinion about what are the best trading books. In my opinion, the books discussed below are the greatest investment texts. These are the ones that I frequently turn to when I want an answer or need motivation. I hope they may be beneficial to you as well. This list is not necessarily ranked in order, although I do have my two favorites ranked as 1 and 2.

10. Trading for Dummies, by By Michael Griffis and Lita Epstein. The dark horse on the list. This was one of the first investment books I read. I still occasionally peruse it just to get a different perspective. This book gives a plain language description of trading, from the basics of how to place an order to candlesticks, to reading balance sheets. The good thing is that both technical and fundamental …

Bailout Does Little to Curb Losses

Market Speculator (October 5th, 2008) Writes:

The House of Representitives did their best to approve a “Bailout Bill” that will, as advertised save the economy from the brink of collapse.  However, this failed to provide any sort of confidence for the market and stocks dove towards new lows.  Our Bear Market has been able to take out 50% of the gains from the low of 2002 thru the high of October 2007.  We’ve been able to do this within one year.  I do not see this turning around any time soon.  This market is not healthy, too many will be wiped clean trying to go long this market.  Monday’s session will be interesting to watch, will we get another Black Monday?

If I were new to the market I would be reading as much as I could.  That would include Jesse Livermore,  William O’Neil, Brad Koteshwar, Stan Weinstein, Darvas, Loeb, etc.  The most important thing to do

“Gordon Gekko”

Brian Shannon (May 26th, 2008) Writes:
at KNIGHT TRADER BLOG wrote a review of MY BOOK. Here is an excerpt "Brian Shannon's book technical analysis through multiple time frames is a modern day version of Stan Weinstein's trading principles applied to 21st Century technology. Brian takes difficult technical analysis concepts and explains them in a way that makes them easy to understand and comprehend." Read the entire review HERE and be sure to check his blog each day for trading ideas. I'm still having difficulties with getting recordings done on my new computer, but here are some stocks I will be looking at during the first couple days of the coming trading week. Again, these are just what appear to be low risk/ high potential profit setups, they are not recommendations. There is still a lot of opportunity in many of the volatile shipping and solar plays for aggressive intraday traders. POTENTIAL LONG CANDIDATES...
