UTEK Corporation (UTK), an innovation services company, announced the sale of Carbon Capture Technologies, Inc. to CSMG Technologies (CTGI.OB). The acquisition of Carbon Capture, a wholly owned subsidiary of UTEK, was completed through a stock transaction.

Carbon Capture holds an exclusive license to the composition, and method of use, for a unique carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorbent. A research team at the University of Ottawa has developed recyclable CO2 adsorbents based upon surface-modified nanoporous silicas. The team found the material to possess a high adsorption capacity that was also reversible, which allowed for repeated use of the material in a highly periodic cyclic adsorption process. The material’s ability to be used in both dry and wet environments allows for a variety of applications.
