Oxygen Biotherapeutics now has a clinical development pipeline which includes seven indications for Oxycyte(TM) emulsion. Oxycyte is the Company’s perfluorocarbon (PFC) therapeutic oxygen carrier. The new Oxycyte pipeline includes: Traumatic Brain Injury, Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, Surgical Iatrogenic Air Embolism, Spinal Cord Injury, Organ Preservation, Decompression Sickness, and Sickle Cell Crisis.

The company has also reported that its topical pipeline includes six additional indications in development for the Oxycyte Gel. The first use of the Dermacyte Gel is for a cosmetic line that is now available for pre-orders via the BuyDermacyte.com website, with product shipment expected in about four weeks. Other uses include treatment for Wounds, Burns, Acne, Rosacea, Cell Treatment after Radiation Therapy, and Erectile Dysfunction. Oxygen Biotherapeudics is also working on two additional uses for Oxycyte Compounds, including a ventilation device called VitaVent and a Deep Immersion Fluorocarbon Treatment for severe burns.

FDA Meeting on Oxycyte Clinical Trial Scheduled For Oxygen Biotherapeutics, Inc. (OXBO)

Oxygen Biotherapeutics, Inc. (OTCBB: OXBO) announced that they have a meeting scheduled for October with the Food and Drug Administration about any remaining issues with a planned trial for its Oxycyte drug.

Oxycyte is a perfluorocarbon oxygen carrier. Its proposed use is to help with traumatic brain injury. Oxygen Bio and the country’s standards agency have tentatively set Oct. 20 as the date.

“At that meeting, we will be extensively prepared to resolve any remaining issues and concerns the FDA may have,” said company Chairman and CEO Chris J. Stern. “We view this as a positive development, as the agency has also offered to review the Company’s overall development plan. This may contribute to reducing regulatory risk at future stages such as Phase III.”

As previously announced in June, Synthetic Blood International has changed its name to Oxygen Biotherapeutics, Inc. effective today. The company will continue to trade on the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board but with a new symbol. Starting with the opening of trading today, the company’s new trading symbol will be OXBO.

Synthetic Blood International, Inc. (SYBD.OB) Receives Grants Exceeding $5 Million

The Department of Defense has awarded Synthetic Blood International a number of grants totaling more than $5.3 million. The funding from these grants will be used to study clinical applications for Oxycyte®, the company’s perfluorocarbon therapeutic oxygen carrier.

The company describes Oxycyte as an oxygen-carrying intravenous emulsion that can carry five times more oxygen than hemoglobin, making it an effective means of transporting oxygen to tissues and carbon dioxide to the lungs for disposal. New applications of oxygen therapy include stroke, myocardial infarction, and certain malignant diseases.
