A Recovery Impersonator

A majority of those polled by Bloomberg think it’s great; 61% said they thought they economy had taken off and was flying high. Stocks are up. Commodities are up. And here’s another Bloomberg headline: “Global investors give Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke top marks…”

The recovery has won the approval of economists and the public. It has almost everything going for it. It just won’t fly!

Gold prices are sliding again today as the US dollar rises and investor take profits on recent gains. After peaking at over $1,000 an ounce in March, the precious metal fell as low as $750 in September.

Jeff Clark says this could be the buying opportunity of a lifetime. The Fed and US Treasury are flooding financial markets with trillions of dollars. This will eventually send inflation soaring and the greenback into a nosedive. And that's when gold prices will skyrocket.

If gold returns to its 1980 inflation-adjusted level, it could mean a spot price upwards of $5,000 an ounce.
