Public Service Enterprise (PEG) is expanding its utility solar base. Its subsidiary Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) received approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for an additional $143 million for its ongoing solar loan program. This will help the company finance the installation of an additional 51MW of solar energy systems in homes, businesses and municipal buildings throughout its electric service area New Jersey.  PSE&G is a regulated public utility company primarily engaged in the transmission and distribution of electricity and gas in New Jersey. It serves approximately 2.1 million electricity customers and 1.7 million gas customers in the region.  Since the utility's initial Solar Loan Program was approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities in April 2008, customers have applied for loans totaling $105 million that would result in 30MW of installed solar capacity. Entergy Spin-Off Delayed – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (September 28th, 2009) Writes:
Entergy Corp.’s (ETR) proposed spin-off of its Non-utility Nuclear power business has been relegated to fiscal 2010. Recently, the New York Public Service Commission’s two administrative law judges in a ruling stated their apprehension regarding the new company having the financial viability to operate three units located in the state of New York. Of this, two units are located in the Indian Point Energy Center in Westchester County and a reactor at the James A. Fitzpatrick station in Oswego County. The New York Public Service Commission expressed its apprehension that the $3.5 billion worth of long-term unsecured bonds that Entergy plans to issue for the spin-off will drag down the bond rating of the new company, affecting its financial capacity. The Commission has also relegated its next hearing to December 2009 followed by a final decision on the spin-off in January 2010. Entergy has been ...

Aquentium, Inc., a publicly traded company in the United States of America (OTCBB: AQNM) announced recently that the company has secured 475 acres in the State of New Mexico for the development of an algae bio-fuel production facility.

Nearly all of algae’s biomass is concentrated in the chloroplast, the engine that turns sunlight and CO2 into organic carbon, so that algae does not waste time or energy making stalks, roots, leaves, or fruits. This efficiency leads to very high yields of oil.

For example, while palm oil can yield 554 gallons of oil per acre, our algae crop can yield over 10,000 gallons per acre; increasing oil output by a factor of twenty. Further, algae has a short growing cycle and does

Russia Has Rebooted to Default with Murder

Robert Amsterdam (July 16th, 2009) Writes:
estemirova071609.jpgThis is from my latest contribution to the Huffington Post:

No one can cast personal blame for a murder when the culprit is an entire system of grand corruption. For years now, self-enriching state officials have gorged themselves on public institutions while withering away democratic rights, reflected by a corruption ranking of 147. The government of Chechnya is perhaps one of the worst, as the decision by Putin to pass total control of the region to the 32-year-old Kadyrov is akin to placing the State of New York under control of the Gambino crime family (no disrespect to the Gambinos).

When such a high number of government officials are in on the take, by definition the justice system does not work. From here, there is a thread connecting
