An Alternative to Gold That You May Find Interesting

Trading School (October 8th, 2009) Writes:

There is no doubt about it - gold is getting a lot of press and media attention lately. So the question is, is the move in gold over or is it just beginning?

I don’t believe the move is over on the upside for gold, but in my new two-minute video I’m going to share with you an alternative to gold that should do just as well for many of the same reasons. This is a big liquid market and has great upside potential and is less volatile than gold.

As always, our videos are free to view and do not require any registration. If you think this is an important video, I strongly suggest you share it with your friends and comment about it on our blog.

All the best,

Adam Hewison President, INO.com Co-creator, MarketClub

Judge Questions BofA Settlement – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (August 26th, 2009) Writes:
U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan ordered federal regulators to explain why they didn't investigate whether executives at Bank of America Corp. (BAC) misled shareholders about bonuses paid by Merrill Lynch.   Rakoff delayed the approval of Bank of America's proposed $33 million settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over the bonus affair, which arose after the bank’s acquisition of Merrill Lynch in September 2008 for $50 billion.   The SEC charged that a proxy statement by Bank of America in November misled investors as it stated that Merrill Lynch would not pay year-end bonuses without Bank of America's consent. However, Bank of America had already authorized Merrill Lynch to pay up to $5.8 billion in bonuses and didn't share that information with shareholders. That rendered a statement Bank of America mailed to 283,000 shareholders of both companies about the Merrill Lynch deal materially false ...

Budget Insanity, FOMC Down-Low, Oil Sands Investing and More!

Contrarian Profits (August 13th, 2009) Writes:

Government budget hits all-time insanity… record monthly, year-to-date deficits… “Cash for clunkers” helps GM, but not economy… July retail sales stage surprise fall… Fed plans exit strategy, ends bond buys… why the FOMC is still not helping you… Byron King’s crude reality: How Canada could be the next Saudi Arabia…

It’s official: Our government ran a record $180.7 billion over budget in July, the Treasury Department said today. That’s just a bit over Wall Street expectations and just under the Congressional Budget Office estimate we reported Monday. Thus the government tab so far this fiscal year is a record $1.27 trillion, not the record $1.3 trillion the CBO guessed earlier this week. Phew… what a relief.

A few more scary details:

The budget deficit is still on track to exceed $1.8 trillion by October, the end of the fiscal year. That would be four times last year’s record budget July spending rose to over ...

Palm (NASDAQ:PALM): Downgraded to Sell at Morgan Joseph; $7.50 target

Notable Calls (August 13th, 2009) Writes:
div style="text-align: justify;"Morgan Joseph is giving span style="font-weight: bold;"Palm (NASDAQ:PALM)/span a kiss of death downgrading the stock to a Sell from Hold and establishing a $7.50 target.br /br /Firm is downgrading their rating on Palm shares to SELL from HOLD given their belief that Pre sales have slowed significantly. span style="font-weight: bold;"Their checks have shown that Pre sales have slowed to approximately 100,000 units in July, from approximately 200,000 in June, and Morgan Joseph believes August shipments are tracking lower than July's./span This would bring Pre shipments below our previous 400,000 estimate for the F1Q10 quarter. Adamis Pharmaceuticals Corp. (ADMP.OB) Influenza Vaccine Demonstrates Efficiency in Immunity against the Virus

QualityStocks (July 31st, 2009) Writes:

Though it’s not getting the frenzy of media attention it received in the past several months, the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control say the H1N1 (swine flu) is still spreading worldwide and remains a constant threat. Pharmaceutical companies are working to overcome modern challenges as the virus mutates, and are racing to develop and manufacture enough vaccines to protect citizens on mass scales.

Adamis Pharmaceuticals Corp. operates through its two wholly owned subsidiaries as a specialty pharmaceutical company. The company today announced that its Adamis Viral Therapies subsidiary’s patented vaccine technology induces immunity against the influenza virus by targeting and attacking regions of the virus that aren’t subject to mutation.

According to the company, the influenza virus rapidly mutates, generating a need for reformulated vaccines every year. As a result, conventional vaccines that stimulate antibody responses become ineffective as the virus mutates.

Is the Market Taking Obama’s Tax Increase Seriously?

Michael E. Brisky (May 5th, 2009) Writes:
This story hasn't caught a lot of media attention, and its surely hasn't caught the market's attention, and I have been wondering why. The story I'm talking about is a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087amp;sid=aFzDnxkw.984amp;refer=home"President Obama's plan to close corporate tax loopholes for corporations doing business overseas/a. It is facing strong opposition from memebers of his own party. A couple of quick highlights:br /br /ulliPresident Barack Obama’s plan to end tax breaks for U.S.-based multinational companies drew a skeptical response from fellow Democrats on Capitol Hill, indicating that his proposal may face obstacles in Congress. /liliSenate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, a Montana Democrat, called for “further study” of Obama’s proposals within minutes of the president’s announcement yesterday. Joseph Crowley, a Democrat on the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, said he doesn’t want any tax changes to “harm” Citigroup, his New York district’s largest private-sector employer. /liliObama proposed outlawing three ...
