Zacks Market Commentaries (August 11th, 2009) Writes:
Despite a sinking global economy, McDonald’s Corporation (MCD) continues to grow same-store sales while maintaining healthy margins and outperforming competitors. Best Stocks of 2009 Review: The First Third

Bullish Bankers (May 10th, 2009) Writes:

More than a third of the year has passed and the markets have rebounded nicely from their lows to turn a small profit on the year.  It seems that the worst may be behind us when it comes to equity prices as many stocks have rallied more than 50% this year alone.  Here at Bullish Bankers we published a “Best Stocks of 2009″ newsletter at the beginning of the year, and our equities have performed very admirably when compared to our benchmark, the S&P 500.  This article is designed to give a recap of how our equities have performed and give some additional explanation to our initial stock picking process.  Through Friday, May 8th, our BB2009 Index has outperformed the S&P 500 by 11.51% on a geometric basis ex-dividend payments.  Beside each of the sectors I have listed our three picks and the comparable ETF to show our relative performance

Blockbuster (NYSE: BBI) – Another Nail In The Coffin

Investment U (January 6th, 2009) Writes:

Blockbuster (NYSE: BBI) - Another Nail In The Coffin

Can you hear that, Blockbuster (NYSE: BBI)? It’s the sound of obsolescence.

With the news that LG Electronics will be producing high-definition televisions that will stream movies from Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX), you can add another nail in the coffin for Blockbuster.

At first, Netflix’s threat to Blockbuster seemed laughable. But now, with more consumers cutting back and looking for instant entertainment, low monthly costs and the ease of Netflix are really starting to squeeze Blockbuster.

And that’s not to say that Blockbuster hasn’t given its rivals a hand. There was the misguided and disastrous attempt to merge with financial-albatross Circuit City (OTC: CCTYQ), the botched roll-out of the “no more late fees - just other fees” program and the complete failure to see how a vindictive fee and collection system could alienate its customers.

But the competition isn’t

In Fast Money’s Web Extra segment “Najarian’s Sweet Trade” which food & beverage purveyor did Pete Najarian praise?

In Wednesday’s Web Extra Pete Najarian reveals why sweet tea makes him sweet on McDonald’s.

I haven’t tried MCD’s sweet tea. However, I like the strong scores it posted for earnings momentum, earnings quality and price momentum. It’s score on return potential, however, is low.
