Superlattice Power Inc. (SLAT.OB) is Focused on Bringing Superlattice Structure Batteries into the Mainstream

QualityStocks (June 30th, 2008) Writes:

Superlattice Power Incorporated has been acclaimed for its breakthroughs in battery technologies. Several researchers and other companies have attempted to harness the high capacity and energy density from superlattice-structured batteries, but have always come up short and never produced their products commercially or on a large scale. However, Superlattice Power Inc. has found success in the development and marketing of the next generation lithium-powered batteries worldwide.

The superlattice structure, which is the key to the company’s success, is a hexagonal structure, allowing the batteries to accommodate more lithium and therefore more energy. Another crucial component to the success of these new batteries is the materials being used. The target material is a mixed oxide with a general formulation of Li1+xMnaCobNicTidO2 to ensure homogeneous mixing of all starting materials which are pre-calcined at high temperatures ranging from 700°C to

Popular Mechanics Takes a First Look at Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) New Supercar

QualityStocks (June 2nd, 2008) Writes:

Recently, Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) shared its much-anticipated, high-performance sports car with Popular Mechanics. Hybrid is one of the emerging leaders in the development of 100 percent electric-powered products worldwide.

The Automotive X Prize (AXP) competition sponsored by Popular Mechanics has inspired Hybrid to develop its latest entry into the highly-competitive electric vehicle market. Those at Popular Mechanics who have seen the vehicle report that Hybrid’s super car “crushes Prius and Corvette.”

Ron Cerven, a project development engineer, stated that the AXP car’s design will center on the drivetrain and the passenger’s level of comfort. In many exotic vehicles, the passenger’s comfort is oftentimes overlooked. When asked if the AXP car would hit the 600+ horsepower level, Cerven replied that Popular Mechanics was “way out of the ballpark—it’s gonna be wild.”

The AXP entry, a hybrid that combines fuel with lithium-ion technology, is expected to reach a minimum of

QualityStocks (May 29th, 2008) Writes:

Hybrid Technologies Inc (HYBR.OB), based in Mooresville, NC, is currently developing a Tesla inspired sportcar. Hybrid plans on developing an all-electric version that will be targeted for production and a gas-electric hybrid version that will be entered into the “Automotive X Prize” competition with Popular Mechanics (PM). Hybrid expects a drivable hybrid prototype, also known as X Prize car, to be completed by September 2008.

Ron Cerven, a Hybrid project development engineer, stated, “We’re looking for this car basically to end up mainstream—not just built for a one-and-done. The X Prize car is going to be the purchasable—obviously a higher-end car, but there might be something else from us in the X Prize.”

Cerven said that the X Prize car’s design will center on the drivetrain and the passenger’s comfort. He also added that the X Prize car would retain regenerative breaking and movable aero parts to alter the
