Lake Victoria Mining Company yesterday reported the recent use of a new trenching program for locating new quartz veins at the company’s Singida Gold project in central Tanzania. The company has announced that detailed mapping and trench wall sampling has commenced as the new project suggests that three new veins may have been exposed in the trenches.

Roger Newell, Lake Victoria’s president stated, “Within only 20 meters to the north east of the already defined 5km gold vein trend we encountered 3 new veins within 1 to 2 meters of the surface, right where our interpreted magnetic images had indicated. So far, all our exploration work at Singida has provided positive results, and these latest trenches suggest that new veins appear to be present and running parallel to the main structure that we sampled from underground shafts. Emisphere Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: EMIS) today announced that it has received commitments from two institutional investors to purchase $4 million of securities in a registered direct offering. Emisphere entered into a securities purchase agreement with these investors pursuant to which Emisphere has agreed to sell an aggregate of 5,714,286 shares of its common stock and warrants to purchase up to 2,685,714 additional shares of its common stock. Each unit, consisting of one share of common stock and a warrant to purchase 0.47 of a share of common stock, will be sold for a purchase price of $0.70.

Today, Lake Victoria Mining Company, Inc. told investors that Kilimanjaro Mining Company Inc. has entered into a Mineral Properties Sale and Purchase Agreement (MPSP) to acquire up to 100% of fifty Primary Mining Licenses (PMLs) in the Singida “gold rush” district, Tanzania. Earlier this month, Lake Victoria Mining Company, Inc. and Kilimanjaro entered into a definitive share exchange agreement. Dependent on the final closing, Kilimanjaro will become a 100% wholly owned subsidiary company of Lake Victoria.

During a visit in May 2009, Kilimanjaro’s president Heidi Kalenuik commented, “We already have a huge gold footprint in Tanzania, holding nine separate gold projects, but, this new Singida area is by far the richest and most prolific of all the properties that I’ve visited. There is a modern day “gold rush” happening here and we plan to become a major player and producer within it.”

Lake Victoria Mining Company, Inc. (OTCBB: LVCA) recently received significant and encouraging assay results from soil samples collected at the Kalemela gold project, located 125 kilometers east of Mwanza in northern Tanzania.

Preliminary results collected from over 1,500 soil samples continue to support earlier reports of anomalous gold within the approximately 70.7 square kilometers Kalemela exploration license. Previously reported, the anomalous area covers about 2km X 6km, as recent assays from soil samples have values that contain up to 1.6 grams/metric ton of gold. In order to confirm these initial results, the company will be conducting an additional assay from the preliminary samples, and by collecting additional samples from the anomalous locations.

Additionally, a detailed ground magnetic survey has been completed that will define geological controls for the high gold values. Early results from the magnetic survey indicate that northeast trending fault and shear zone
