Good News for Bristol-Myers – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (November 23rd, 2009) Writes:
Recently, Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market Abilify (aripiprazole) for the treatment of irritability in pediatric patients having autistic disorder. Abilify can be used to treat children aged 6 to 17 years for symptoms of aggression toward others, deliberate self injury, temper tantrums and quick mood swings.  Bristol-Myers and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. jointly develop and distribute the drug in the U.S. and Europe. The FDA approval of Abilify for treating irritation in pediatric patients with autistic disorder is based on data from two eight-week late-stage studies in which Abilify significantly improved scores on the irritability subscale of the caregiver-rated Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC-I), compared to placebo.  The most common adverse affects were sedation, fatigue, vomiting, somnolence, tremor and pyrexia. However, the efficacy of Abilify for the maintenance treatment of irritability associated with autistic disorder was not ...

State of the Art Monetary Policy In Sweden

Edward Hugh (July 8th, 2009) Writes:
by Edward Hugh: Barcelonabr /br /Animated by last weeks export driven positive PMI result, a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/feedarticle/8588125"Sweden has now taken poll position in the quantitative easing process/a and has committed to keeping 0.25% rates on hold till the end of 2010 at least. Mind you, they are lucky enough to have Princeton economist and avid deflation fighter a href="http://www.princeton.edu/svensson/"Lars Svensson/a in there on the board to steer them through all this. Good for Swedish growth, Krona negative, great for exports. Let's go, let's go, let's go.br / br /br /br /blockquoteSweden's central bank cut its key interest rate by 25 basis points to a new record low of 0.25 percent in a surprise move on Thursday, and said it would offer one-year loans to banks to foster lending. The Riksbank said it expected interest rates to remain at that level until late 2010. Deputy Governor Lars Svensson disagreed with the decision ...

Sector 10, Inc. (SECT.OB) Takes Pro-Active Approach to Safety

QualityStocks (February 18th, 2009) Writes:

In the last year, many local emergency response teams have felt the blow of the current economy as a result of reduced budgets. As a result of lowered budgets, each community is faced with fewer safety professionals to assist citizens. Sector 10, Inc. (SECT.OB) is a unique company focused on developing tools to provide individuals and communities with an extra level of safety during emergency situations.

Fire is one of the main emergencies that we all face. Every 19 seconds a fire department is dispatched to a fire, and a fire-related injury is reported every 29 minutes. One notable issue for metropolitan areas is that new protocols have been passed that require people to either stay put or relocate to another part of a high-rise building during an incident.

Smoke inhalation is the number one obstacle facing those in a building fire. Sector 10 has

Iran and Russian Interest

Robert Amsterdam (October 28th, 2008) Writes:
The attentive reader may recall that Sergei Lavrov got a little bit prickly in response to U.S. sanctions on the state arms exporter Rosoboronexport. During yesterday's press debriefing at the State Department, one journalist got a brief response out of Sean McCormack, which shows that the U.S. is getting bit annoyed with Russia's insistence that its helping out on Iran is seen as "a favor" rather than a mutual interest. He's got a point. QUESTION: Sean, kind of old business from Friday. Sergey Lavrov expressed some irritation about the sanctions that the United States imposed against that Russian export firm Rosoboronexport or whatever. MR. MCCORMACK: Yeah. QUESTION: And he said that it was a case of unilateralism vis-à-vis Iran and that this will cause Russia to sort of approach the P5+1 process with diminished zeal. And I was wondering, have they communicated that to you? MR. MCCORMACK: I don’t ...

We can rejoice, we have carried out the desire of our powers in full and are getting used to the dispatches from the front like to competitions going on the news before the Olympic games. For now they still tug at the heartstrings, but a few years will go by and just like with the war in Chechnya, we will look with irritation at the latest propagandistic brew ...
