Donnelley Beats but Net Falls – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (November 4th, 2009) Writes:
R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company (RRD), a leading provider of integrated communications and printing solutions, reported third quarter fiscal year 2009 results that beat the Zacks Consensus estimates. This was despite the huge decline from the year-ago period as a result of the loss of a significant -- but unidentified -- customer. R.R. Donnelley is not immune to the current challenging economic environment, which impacted end-market demand and forced the company to lower prices. However, the company now expects demand to stabilize and even strengthen in future quarters. As a result, the company expects low single-digit sequential revenue growth for the fourth quarter of 2009. The company reported non-GAAP net income from continuing operations of $111.9 million, or 54 cents per share in the third quarter of 2009. This surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 43 cents, but fell substantially from the prior-year quarter. The company ...

Centennial Reports, Kept a Hold – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (April 8th, 2009) Writes:
We maintain our Hold rating for Centennial Communications Corp. (CYCL), a regional provider of wireless and integrated communications. The company's recent operational performance has been driven by solid growth in net income coupled with respectable subscriber additions across its wireless and broadband operations.CYCL recently received shareholders approval for the acquisition by AT&T Inc. (T), the second largest wireless carrier in the U.S., for approximately $2.8 billion in cash and net debt, which includes cash to stockholders $8.50 per share. New initiatives in fiscal 2009, including network infrastructure upgrades in the U.S. and unlimited tariff plans in Puerto Rico, are expected to accelerate overall business performance. However, we remain concerned with competitive factors in CYCL's coverage markets that may challenge customer retention and pricing structure -- higher churn rates in some operating regions. We reiterate our Hold recommendation with a six-month price target of $8.50, ...
