Finance Yahoo Google without development.

Vlada Kynsky (April 26th, 2009) Writes:
It has been long time since I was blogging last time about finance portals from Yahoo and Google. Actually it was on September 08 right before deep sell off on stock market had started. And since that time there is no progress on new features neither for Google Finance nor for Yahoo Finance. Finance Google (GOOG) released functionality for its Android and launched and launched ads on Google Finance. Nothing interesting, nothing important. Finance Yahoo (YHOO) is even behind Google. If you check their blog about Finance Yahoo site, you can find out that except some Facebook portfolio application there in no new single release. And it is being so half of the year. It seems like big search giants focus on core business and cost cutting rather than developing new functionalities for its secondary ...

The latest feature on Google Finance.

Vlada Kynsky (September 1st, 2008) Writes:
Already several times I have been comparing major finance portals. You can see my comparison between Finance Yahoo and Finance Google. Up to now Yahoo was always one step ahead Google. But today I would like to show you one feature released by Google which beats Yahoo. For each ticker you can now display except the news also related posts on blogs. This section is on right sidebar as shown below.Google is picking up blog posts which means that not all your posts tagged with ticker will be shown. Also all blog news are plotted to share price at the chart by letter. Google is linking directly to blogger page.Yahoo has also Blog news section but it has only articles from well known aggregators like Seeking Alpha, Wall Street Journal or others.http://stockweb.blogspot.com/atom.xml

Vlada Kynsky (May 28th, 2008) Writes:

Yahoo Finance vs Google Finance.

Vlada Kynsky (May 7th, 2008) Writes:
I've already compared those 2 major finance portals but in reference to stocks screening. You can see my post here. Do you prefer Google or Yahoo? Let me point out some pros and cons.Initial pageYahoo has very well organized structure. It is more than just stock markets. You have all aspects of finance world structured in top scroll down menu. Market summary even for major European and Asian indices. Top stories are excellently highlighted. On the other side. It has advertisements. And no possibility to be personalized.Google offers nice sectors summary where the money flows. You have possibility to see your portfolio already on initial page. You don't see any ads. Now disadvantages. The biggest is top stories. It really misses the way how Yahoo can pick the most important stories and particularly highlight ...
