Bullish Bankers (May 22nd, 2009) Writes:

Below are 12 extreme FDA trades for 11 companies with market caps below $200M which have pending new drug product decisions or other meetings/milestones scheduled with the FDA that are expected to have a major impact on each of the underlying stock prices as the PDUFA decision dates approach and the decision is ultimately announced. A high risk/reward trading approach to consider for speculative traders is investing a small amount of money that you can afford to lose in a basket of stocks included in extreme FDA and Clinical Trial Calendar trades, which are highlighted in periodic articles at BioMedReports.com.

Sell Rating Maintained for ALKS – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (April 3rd, 2009) Writes:
Highlighted companies include Novo Nordisk (NVO), Alkermes (ALKS), Eli Lilly (LLY) and Amylin (ALMN).

Late Thursday, an FDA panel reviewing Novo Nordisk's (NVO) Liraglutide application for type II diabetes expressed concern over a study that indicated it might trigger thyroid cancer tumors in rodents.

Alkermes (ALKS) and Eli Lilly (LLY)/Amylin (ALMN) are also co-developing a similar drug exenatide LAR, a long-acting version of Amylin's popular medication Byetta for type II diabetes.

Both liraglutide and exenatide belong to the same class of drugs called GLP-1s. So far, according to data from both preclinical and clinical studies, we think Exenatide LAR may have a better safety profile than liraglutide, but we are not sure if the FDA will exert tough rule on the safety concerns of Exenatide.

Currently, Exenatide is under 4 phase III studies (DURATION-1, 2, 3 and 4). The extension of
