Stuart Smith (November 5th, 2009) Writes:

NEW YORK, Nov. 5, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — TIE Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:TTCS) today announces its participation in the Intelligent Flood Protection Monitoring, Warning and Response System (IFPRMWRS) DNR RSIQ No. 2503-09-21 project awarded by the State of Louisiana to Geocomp and their ‘I-Levee Team’ associates.

Today in Russian Business – September 30, 2009

Robert Amsterdam (September 30th, 2009) Writes:
In advance of a meeting with the heads of some of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, Putin has defended Russia's crisis management, reiterated a commitment to 'a liberal market economy' and emphasized that when the crisis has passed, the government will diminish its intervention in the economy.  The central bank has made an unexpected cut in its key re-financing rate to 10% from 10.5% as a result of dwindling industrial production.  Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina has apparently cautiously suggested that the country's GDP decline could be lower than the official forecast.  A Standard & Poor's analyst has said that Russia is already caught in the second wave of the financial crisis.  Sberbank will provide a loan to Rusal to help it pay back its debt to Alfa Group.  VEB may acquire a ...

The Death of American Capitalism

Contrarian Profits (June 17th, 2009) Writes:

“Little else is required,” Adam Smith, author of The Wealth of Nations, once remarked, “to carry a state to the highest degree of affluence from the lowest barbarism but peace, easy taxes and a tolerable administration of justice; all the rest being brought about by the natural course of things.”

But this quintessentially laissez-faire perspective gains very little traction in modern-day America. In fact, it gains no traction whatsoever, except in a few fringey financial publications. Instead, America’s political elite conspires with the Wall Street bourgeoisie to lead the nation from the highest degree of affluence to the lowest barbarism.

The process begins innocently enough in the name of “crisis management,” as the political elite provides multi-trillion-dollar guarantees and bailouts to the Wall Street bourgeoisie. The proletariat embraces these bizarre, counterintuitive remedies because they genuinely believe these “remedies” contain curative powers. In other words, the proletariat believes that bureaucrats
