Conexant Works to Deleverage – Analyst Blog

Conexant Systems, Inc. (CNXT) designs and develops semiconductor solutions that enable consumers to access the digital world. The company's products enable set-top boxes (STBs), personal computers (PCs), and game terminals to share voice, video, and data over broadband networks including asynchronous digital subscriber line (ASDL), cable, and direct broadcast satellite systems.Recently, Conexant closed the deal for SigmaTel's Multi-Function Printer unit, which it purchased for $16 million and divested its broadband media processing segment. The company is in the process of deleveraging its balance sheet and retired almost $133 million of debt in fiscal 2008. Going forward, management had limited visibility owing to the global financial crisis and expects revenues between $103 million and $108 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2009, down 12%-16% sequentially. Skyworks Still Shooting Sparks – Analyst Blog

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (SWKS) was formed through the merger of the wireless business of Conexant Systems, Inc. and Alpha Industries, Inc. on June 25, 2002. The company is headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts. Skyworks designs, manufactures and markets wireless semiconductor solutions for the mobile communications industry.

SWKS appears to be winning business in handset semis -- Nokia (NOK) in particular -- as well as successfully broadening its footprint in linear products. Going forward, based on new product ramps at leading handset customers and continued end-market diversification, management expects revenues of $225 million in Q4 while EPS is anticipated to be $0.20.

In the long run, the company targets quarterly revenues of $250 million and gross margin of 42%. We have a Buy rating on the stock and with a target price of $12.
