CTS: Diversity & Alt-Energy – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (September 9th, 2009) Writes:
CTS Setting a Course for Growth CTS Corporation (CTS) designs, manufactures, assembles and sells electronic components and sensors worldwide. Despite challenging business conditions, the firm delivered on an aggressive cost containment plan and had significant design wins during fiscal 2009. These wins should translate into meaningful revenue growth in 2010 and beyond. Several of the new business wins are related to clean technology applications. The global movement to energy efficiency, or so-called "green technology" is prompting consumers and governments to look for other options. This should be a tailwind for CTS. EMS: Niche markets, Diversification and Alternative Energy The slower growing Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) segment has been exceptionally diversified since 2004 into medical and industrial, where margins are higher and the cost to enter the market is significant. This will likely produce higher margins and more reliable revenue in what is CTS’ ...

Analog Devices Beats! – Analyst Blog

Zacks Market Commentaries (May 20th, 2009) Writes:
Analog Devices Beats Consensus Estimates on Both Top & Bottom-LinesAnalog Devices Inc.'s (ADI) CEO Jerald G. Fishman said this: "ADI's second quarter results were better than planned as we benefited from increased sales to communications infrastructure and consumer customers and a general abatement of inventory reductions by our customers."What we likeMost of the company's products are in the analog category. Analog and mixed signal products tend to be more customized, with relatively longer life cycles than digital components. Consequently, sales of older analog products can keep contributing to revenue for longer time periods and at higher margins than corresponding digital products.
