I have read alot of articles indicating that the Euro could replace the dollar as a reserve currency.
I have a hard time buying that one…simply because the Euro is just another fiat currency.
Worse…its a fiat currency with no clear backing.

Germany’s banking sector rescue has failed and should be modified urgently if lasting damage to the economy is to be avoided, the MPs who oversee the €500bn ($668bn, £449bn) of funds warned on Friday.
