A unit of Tyco International Ltd.’s (TYC) Tyco Flow Control was recently selected to support the construction of Australia's largest desalination project in one of the largest public-private partnerships for infrastructure in the world.

The desalination plant in Victoria will play a key role in meeting the needs of the drought-prone areas of southern and eastern Australia by turning sea water into 40 billion gallons of drinking water per year. This will reach 3.5 million people in Melbourne and adjoining areas. CarMax (KMX) will release its sales and earnings results for the second quarter of fiscal 2010 ended August 31, 2009 on September 22. The Richmond, VA-based used car retailer reported earnings of 11 cents per share, excluding special items, for the first quarter of the fiscal year. This was high above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 4 cents per share. Warner Chilcott (WCRX) has announced that it has completed its move to Ireland from Bermuda.  As per the transaction Warner Chilcott Ltd. became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warner Chilcott Plc.  The movement to Ireland was approved by the company’s board in May this year, citing advantages such as, stable long-term legal and regulatory environment and robust network of tax treaties with other countries. SkyWest, Inc. (Nasdaq: SKYW) reported an 8.9 percent increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for July, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 4.5 percent compared to the same period last year. The combined airlines generated 1.75 billion RPMs for the month, while ASMs increased to 2.10 billion. Load factor was up 3.4 percentage points to 83.5 percent compared to 80.1 percent for the same period last year.
