Bank of the Ozarks Advances as 1Q Beats – Zacks Tale of the Tape

Bank of the Ozarks Inc. (OZRK) advanced almost 7% today after announcing, late Monday, that first-quarter EPS beat the consensus.

The bank holding company is experiencing higher-than-usual volume of approximately 338,000, compared to average volume of about 155,000.

First-quarter earnings of 55 cents beat the consensus estimate by 3 cents. The company witnessed 20% year-over-year growth in net income to a record $9.3 million during the quarter.

Analysts have pulled back on earnings estimates for the full-year by 4 cents to $2.14 over the past 30 days. However, this earnings surprise could spark some positive analyst revisions over the next several weeks.
