Alger Spectra A (SPECX) was incepted in September 1968. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by focusing on companies of all market capitalization that have growth potential.

It may engage in selling stocks short.

MainStay Capital Appreciation A (MCSAX) seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests primarily in stocks with strong growth in revenues and earnings per share, including companies with expanding product or service markets.

The fund looks for factors like new management, new products, or shifting consumer and economic trends, which could accelerate earnings growth. It is designed for investors seeking to add growth potential to an income-oriented portfolio.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT), DIRECTV Group Inc. (DTV) and International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) are among the fund’s key holdings. Edmund C. Spelman has managed the fund since February 1991.

Evergreen Omega A (EKOAX) seeks long-term capital growth. The fund invests substantially all of its assets in common stocks of U.S. companies of any market capitalization.

The fund may be suitable for investors seeking: 1) long-term growth potential, 2) diversification among stocks of various market capitalizations. The fund has outperformed the total annual return of its benchmark index in the 1-, 3- and 5-year periods.
