On December 23, I wrote A title=No required minimum distributions for retirees! href=http://www.moneyandmarkets.com/three-more-year-end-steps-for-greater-wealth-2-28944an article for Moneyamp;Markets that talked about a possible suspension of required minimum distributions/A for retirees. brbrWell, on that very same day, andnbsp;off most investors’ radar screens, that legislation did pass.brbrWhat this means is that anyone over age 70 1/2 does not have tonbsp;withdraw money from their retirement accounts in 2009.nbsp;brbrWhat’s the reasoning? Well, Congress doesn’t want to force people to have tonbsp;cash out whilenbsp;investments are down and out.nbsp;brbrThat’snbsp;greatnbsp;…nbsp;and it’s even better for anyone who’d rather leave their money in tax-sheltered accounts no matter what the markets are doing!nbsp;brbrI suggest you take advantage of this temporary reprieve if possible.brnbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
