The first aluminum diesel piston rolled off the line today at Federal-Mogul Corporation’s (Nasdaq: FDML) joint venture with KAMAZ, the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in Russia. The 50/50 JV, called Federal-Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny, located in Tatarstan, Russia, will produce pistons, piston rings and cylinder liners for KAMAZ’s OE and OES products, and serve the Russian and global automotive and aftermarket industries.
Further addressing consumer expectations for mobile phones that deliver performance equivalent to stand-alone consumer devices, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced two new members of its OMAP-DM5x family of coprocessors, which deliver the industry’s highest megapixel (MP) capability, with up to 20 MP still imaging capabilities, as well as 720p high-definition (HD) camcorder functionality. The OMAP-DM515 and OMAP-DM525 coprocessors accelerate imaging and video performance, giving handset manufacturers an easy way to upgrade existing handset designs to get to market quickly with cutting-edge multimedia capabilities.
Global Med Technologies®, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLOB), an international healthcare information technology company, today announced that it has signed a binding letter of intent with Denver-based Bonfils Blood Center to acquire Hemo-Net®. A subsidiary of the blood center, Hemo-Net is a pioneering application service provider (ASP) specializing in the medical technology field. Hemo-Net is based in Denver, Colorado. Hemo-Net currently hosts business solutions for Global Med’s customers in the United States and Africa. Hemo-Net’s revenues in the next calendar year will be approximately $900,000, with an expected positive EBIDTA. The acquisition is expected to close by November 1, 2009. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced the five finalists of its EMC Documentum xCelerated Composition Platform (xCP) Designer’s Challenge. EMC issued the challenge in May 2009 to its customers and partners to build a case management application using the Documentum xCP platform.
Isolagen, Inc. has reorganized and emerged from bankruptcy as Fibrocell Science, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: FCSC), a biotechnology company focused on developing regenerative fibroblast cells for aesthetic, medical and scientific applications. The Company has named a new Board of Directors.
