Analysts downgraded Dow Chemical Co. (DOW) on Monday and trimmed the chemical bellwether’s EPS estimates on possibilities of near-term weakness. The stock gained 4.18% in the morning.
According to analysts, the consensus earnings estimates for the third quarter — 64 cents per share — and the outlook for 2009 look too high. There are also concerns over the Rohm and Haas (ROH) acquisition. The shares of ROH are up over 11% since morning.
