Shares of Compuware Corp. (CPWR) jumped more than 8% in reaction to better-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter earnings.
The software developer reported a profit of 21 cents per share, which topped the consensus by 3 cents.
Compuware’s revenues slipped 25% to $253.4 million, as all operating segments ended deep in red.
However, the company maintained strict control over operating expenses, which reduced 28% to $196 million.
Meanwhile, the full-year consensus estimate has moved up 6 cents over the past 2 months to 66 cents per share.
CPWR, a Zacks #3 Rank (”Hold”) stock, is trading on heavy volume of approximately 2.6 million, compared to average daily volume of about 1.8 million.
