A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd. (APWR) announced first-quarter profit today that lagged behind analysts’ expectations.
Shares are off about 5% so far today.
A-Power earned 4 cents per share for the quarter, against the consensus of 13 cents per share. Revenue fell 3.5% to $31.2 million.
However, the company expects full-year earnings of $32 million on revenue of $320 million, compared with its April view of $29 million and $290 million respectively.
The consensus estimate for the current year declined 3 cents to 92 cents per share in the past 30 days as 1 of 3 analysts pulled back on expectations.
Next year’s estimate is currently $1.40 per share, a decrease of 5 cents over the same period.
This Zacks #4 Rank (”Sell”) company is trading on volume of 1.4 million shares, marginally ahead than its daily average of nearly 1.3 million.
