TeleCommunication Systems (TCS), a global authority in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, announced that the U.S. Army has granted the company $3.4 million in incremental funding for equipment, field services support, and maintenance of Secure Internet Protocol Router and Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Access Point (SNAP) Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite systems equipment.

The funding for these procurements has been acquired by the U.S. Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network – Tactical (PM WIN-T) Commercial Satellite Terminal Program through the Army’s $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle. TCS’s SNAP VSAT systems will be used to provide multimedia communications capabilities which deliver encrypted voice, video, and data to military installations. In addition to robust functional capabilities that are impressively portable and rugged, the systems also include a graphical interface for easy operation and set-up.
