MasteryDon’t say we didn’t tell you, last Friday we wrote - Sometimes its best to just clear the portfolio and take a breather. With Auto Sales set to report next Tuesday along with a bunch of other crap that could bring the market to its knees, why risk it? The Dow is going down thanks to bad retail sales and unemployment data. Time to go shopping.

Just like that, U.S. retailers posted sluggish back-to-school sales reports today and the government said the number of workers seeking unemployment benefits spiked last week. The Dow Jones industrials fell more than 200 points.

So now what?

Shopping list time.Right of the bat, the best of the best that everyone hates, two huge companies that have been kicked to the curb:

The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA)

United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X)

Now we could go on and on about why we think these two compaines are so wonderful. But any long term investor or short term guy hoping for a bounce can find a ton of reason to like these two companies despite the negative press that is driving these stocks down.
