OPKO Health, Inc. (NYSE Amex:OPK) today announced that it has entered into a worldwide exclusive license agreement with Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan, for a new technology to develop protein vaccines against influenza and other viral infections. The technology was discovered by Dr. Chi-Huey Wong, a renowned biological chemist, and his team at Academia Sinica.

Meridian Interstate Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:EBSB), the holding company for East Boston Savings Bank, and Mt. Washington Cooperative Bank (”Mt. Washington”), today jointly announced the signing of a definitive merger agreement. Mt. Washington operates seven offices in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and, at March 31, 2009, had assets of $516 million, deposits of $372 million and retained earnings of $32 million.

Beacon Power Corporation (Nasdaq: BCON), a company that designs and develops advanced products and services to support more stable, reliable and efficient electricity grid operation, announced that it has completed the connection of a second megawatt (MW) of flywheel energy storage to the New England power grid. Labopharm Inc. (NASDAQ: DDSS) today announced it has received a complete response letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the new drug application (NDA) submission of its novel formulation of the antidepressant trazodone.

Holly Corporation (NYSE: HOC) plans to announce results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 on August 10, 2009, before the opening of trading on the NYSE. The company has scheduled a webcast conference call on August 10, 2009 at 10:00AM Eastern time to discuss financial results.
