InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of safety and security software for government and private enterprises, announced its acquisition of all BIO-key International’s Law Enforcement Division assets, including the MobileCop®, PocketCop®, MobileRescue™, MobileOffice™, and InfoServer™ product lines. This transaction positions InterAct as the world’s largest public safety software company, with more than 2,000 customers across three continents. As previously reported, BIO-key’s Law Enforcement Division recently entered a partnership with Nlets, the premiere interstate justice and public safety network in the nation for the exchange of law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety-related information.

CEO of Interact Andrew J. Filipowski commented, “As a result of this acquisition, we have the unique opportunity to deliver the most advanced mobile law enforcement solution to ever hit the market, and to introduce a new population of customers to the advantages inherent in the InterAct Connections Framework. We are proud of our company’s consistent track record of delivering flexible, intuitive CAD, GIS, and RMS solutions. Looking ahead, we will build on the best attributes of both mobile product suites to give first responders the most advanced resources with which they can protect their communities.”

The company’s products have long been part of the InterAct Connections Framework, a collection of seamlessly integrated products that vastly improve the efficiency of emergency response operations. Hundreds of agencies across the country currently utilize the coupled benefits of InterAct and BIO-key’s integrated solution, which will be released as one, comprehensive mobile offering in the coming months.

BIO-key’s mobile wireless technology gives law enforcement personnel the tools to gain the best situational awareness possible regarding critical information from Federal, state and local databases. Using a smartphone or laptop, law enforcement personnel can receive computer-aided dispatches, in addition to reliable, real-time data and images while en route or on-scene.

Thomas J. Colatosi, chairman of BIO-Key International, added, “This alliance is the culmination of a longstanding partnership between InterAct and BIO-key. Our development teams have worked together successfully for many years, and we are extremely pleased that InterAct will continue to support and build upon BIO-key’s exceptional mobile products. This transaction will not only allow BIO-key to focus on our core offerings by providing the most secure and easily deployable biometric identity products on the market today, but allow for InterAct to take a clear leadership position in public safety software as the largest, most advanced provider in the country.”
