The accompanying table presents an update to my Global Animal Care Index and ETF idea as a market cap-weighted index with 29 companies that have market caps between $100 million to $10 billion US Dollars. The update includes current financial data through the market close on 8/8/08, and eliminates all big pharma companies which have animal health segments to make the index more leveraged to animal care. My Global Animal Care Index has outperformed both the Healthcare Sector SPDR (XLV) and iShares S&P Global Healthcare (IXJ) exchange-traded funds over the past year with a weighted return of 4%.
