Russia may look to foreign investors for advice on proposed changes to laws that would ‘woo back companies scared off by a decade of resource nationalism‘. Germany has granted permission for the construction of the Nord Stream pipeline – the final country to do so. German foreign minister Joschka Fischer says Europe cannot wait for another gas crisis to begin to diversify its suppliers, and is accordingly a prominent supporter of the Nabucco pipeline, on which he is riding high hopes for energy security.
