Things are progressing here at Emerginvest quite well, but this week has been mostly development on behind-the-scenes code, so there isn’t too much too report. Aside from that, we know that you, our users, enjoy our site for one reason: a shared passion for global financial trends and emerging markets. In light of that, I wanted to start writing a series posts that would be more pertinent for you. Topics I have in mind are: highlighting global information portals, commenting on insightful articles, and our perspective on major financial topics like portfolio diversification.
For the first of these articles, I wanted to expound upon the last post and aggregate a list of high-quality emerging market and global economic blogs. Most of these authors are financial advisers and economists and I have yet to find a place which combines this wealth of information. This is by no means an exhaustive list, so if you are aware of any more, please let us know.
The list:
http://jetfinvestments.blogspot.com/ - blog aggregating news and information from world emerging markets.
http://jetfinvestments.blogspot.com/ - Great blog on ETF’s.
http://blog.taipanpublishinggroup.com/ - Analysis on global markets from a group of authors, (usually Irwin Greenstein)
http://blogs.msdn.com/acid49/ - Blog focused on commenting about global trends, with a focus on China. Author: Frank Yu from Beijing, China.
http://burnickblog.sovereignsociety.com/emerging_markets/index.html - Analysis on World Markets and Trends. Author: Mike Burnick - great author who is a senior editor and director of research at The Sovereign Society.
http://indianeconomy.org/ - Great Indian blog from a number of contributors.
http://clausvistesen.squarespace.com/alphasources-blog/ - Extremely high quality blog on economic perspectives, with a global perspective.
http://blogs.wsj.com/marketbeat/category/emerging-markets/ - The WallStreetJournal’s Blog on emerging markets – although as of this posting, it hadn’t been updated in a few months.
http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/ - Another great blog with a global perspective. Author: Mike Shedlock (a registered investment advisor representative for SitkaPacific Capital Management).
http://memrieconomicblog.org/index.html - Great blog from The Middle East Media Research Institute on economic matters in the Middle East.
This next of blogs is one of the most comprehensive resources on global economics I have seen. The author, Edward Hugh, currently lives in Barcelona and maintains all of the blogs below(in addition to a few others). They are organized by region, in addition to individual countries. Aside from the sheer breadth of his coverage, he has some extremely insightful commentary on world markets.

Jonathan is the Director of Marketing for Emerginvest. Jonathan has been readying the website for its full beta launch. After officially joining the company full time at the end of May, Jonathan summed it up "it has been a whirlwind of activity filling out our functionality, and it is surreal to be putting the finishing touches on our first version of the website". The recent launch of http://emerginvest.com included 50 countries and over 10,000 companies from around the globe - a revolutionary amount of breadth for retail investors and all available for free. Jonathan is working diligently to add functionality, additional country and company data, as well as charts and features in the coming months.
