World leaders beg for China’s cash

27 European and Asian countries gathered in Beijing to discuss the spreading global crisis. And the main theme from the conference is begging for China’s help.
Jose Manuel Barroso, the
president of the European Commission, said, “I very much hope that China can make an important contribution to
the solution to the financial crisis. It’s a great opportunity for
China to show a sense of responsibility.”
The ‘contribution’ he is talking about is China pledging some of its $1.9 trillion cash horde of foreign reserves.
The problem is that China is more concerned about propping up its own economy than helping the rest of the world.
