Babak of a href="http://www.tradersnarrative.com/gold-seasonality-turns-positive-2909.html"Trader's Narrative/a opens his latest post as follows:br /br /blockquoteWhile we’re on the subject of seasonality and how September is the albatross around the stock market’s neck these days, I’d be remiss to not point out that what has been historically negative for equities has been a boon for gold and gold stocks./blockquotebr /span class="fullpost"he followsbr /br /blockquote...you’ll notice that during this current super-bull market for gold (which started in 2000) seasonality has shifted slightly. For these most current years (red line) there are really two big waves of positive seasonality for gold and gold stocks. The first is about to start while the second comes after a correction in October and lasts from mid-October to February of the following year./blockquotebr /Gold is currently in the process of forming a a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxODA1?end"symmetrical triangle/a. An upward break from the triangle will have a minimum target move of $12 to take the ETF to the $106-107 level. An earlier call I made back in a href="http://zignalsblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/zignals-stock-charts-gld-dba-dbc-and.html"April/a was for a move to $118.69 based on a head-and-shoulder reversal pattern with a then stop of $84.49. That stop could now be better placed on a break of $91.40; a break of $91.40 would confirm a downward break for the triangle (and set a target closer to $79).br /br /a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sp5HQfKpdoI/AAAAAAAAA_g/JbU3euGmNmQ/s1600-h/GLD+Sep2.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 176px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sp5HQfKpdoI/AAAAAAAAA_g/JbU3euGmNmQ/s320/GLD+Sep2.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376813353696589442" //abr /On the public a href="http://twitter.com/Zignals_Alerts"Zignals_Alerts/a via twitter, a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxODA1?end"GLD/a enjoyed a bullish crossover between 10-day and 13-day EMAs and was added to a provisional "watchlist" a href="http://blog.fallondpicks.com/images/Portfolio%20Sep%201st.png"portfolio/a. br /br /a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sp5I5BCtDwI/AAAAAAAAA_o/V8KGfZvV718/s1600-h/GLDportfolio.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 211px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sp5I5BCtDwI/AAAAAAAAA_o/V8KGfZvV718/s320/GLDportfolio.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376815149496471298" //abr /Will the next six months be kind to Gold (a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxODA1?end"GLD/a) and its sister metal, Silver (a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=Vlc4MDg=?end"SLV/a)?br /br /Follow us on a href="http://twitter.com/Zignals"twitter here/abr /br /script type="text/javascript" src="http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/js/Zignalsnews?title=My%20Delicious%20Bookmarksicon=mcount=5sort=datetagsextendednameshowadd"/scriptbr /br /span style="font-size:80%; color:#cccccc;"Dr. Declan Fallon, Senior Market Technician, a href="http://www.zignals.com"Zignals.com/a the free a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/stock_alerts/try_stock_alerts.aspx"stock alerts/a, a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/stock_alerts/try_stock_alerts.aspx"market alerts/a, a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/stock_charts/try_stock_charts.aspx"stock charts/a, a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/stock_screener/try_stock_screener.aspx"stock screener/a and a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/portfolio_manager/try_portfolio_manager.aspx"stock portfolio manager/a website /span/spandiv class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3415040392614486358-3750238759979950079?l=zignalsblog.blogspot.com' alt='' //div

pIf you’re looking for what I call a “blast-off” move, look no further than the sugar market./p
pSince April, the commodity has embarked on an extreme upside move, shooting to highs not seen since sugar hit $0.45 per pound in 1981. The chart below illustrates it perfectly…/p

pHow many entrepreneurs have sat down and thought to themselves, “If only the Chinese would buy my product…Heck, if only one in 10 Chinese would buy my product, I’d be rich!” Call it the China Dream. It has a long history./p
pJames McGregor wrote a book in 2005 on doing business in China called emOne Billion Customers/em. If the title sounds familiar, it may be because a man named Carl Crow wrote a book called em400 Million Customers/em, back in 1937. You see, the dream only gets bigger over time!/p
pFor the most the part, this dream remains a mere dream. But sometimes, someone, somewhere, figures it out. Carl Crow was someone who figured it out, and it made him a rich#8230;/p

Good day#8230; And a Wonderful Wednesday to you! Well#8230; Yesterday, the title of The Pfennig was: So Far#8230; It#8217;s A Turn Around Tuesday! And#8230; That theme played well throughout the day, and by day#8217;s end, it had been quite the Turn Around Tuesday! Now, we have to see what#8217;s in store for us today, as the last couple of weeks have seen the Wednesday trading quite the opposite of Tuesday#8217;s trading! Strange trading pattern don#8217;t you agree?/p
pOvernight, the euro climbed as high as 1.4140, only to sit at the cusp of 1.41 as I begin to write this morning. Of course 1.41#8230;/p

Bulls will be biting their nails with SP futures weak; but what has grabbed the attention of traders this week?br /br /Apple (a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxMzI2?end"AAPL/a) tops the list. a href="http://www.bostonwealth.net/2009/06/21/aapl-macro-perspective/"Boston Wealth Management/a is looking at a long standing battle of the trendlines:br /br /a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9eWYqFpXI/AAAAAAAAA8A/OQ9_ycWjsXA/s1600-h/BWMjunAAPL.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 183px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9eWYqFpXI/AAAAAAAAA8A/OQ9_ycWjsXA/s320/BWMjunAAPL.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350098621008553330" //abr /But over the short term it is looking better for the bulls:br /br /a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9fXuWDHTI/AAAAAAAAA8I/v0lLKIjIoK8/s1600-h/AAPLJun22.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 176px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9fXuWDHTI/AAAAAAAAA8I/v0lLKIjIoK8/s320/AAPLJun22.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350099743521578290" //abr /span class="fullpost"Second was the Euro/US Dollar Currency pair (a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxMzI4?end"EURUSD/a). Shorts look to have the edge on the a href="http://www.stocktwits.com/t/EURUSD"Stocktwits feed/a but the daily chart appears to show a bull flag with clear support at $1.38xx. I have made a call for a measured move to $1.55xx. Supply in the $1.42xxs has restrained the rally once but can it do so for a second time? br /br /a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9imM1_0dI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/jK2mU67D2Ew/s1600-h/EURUSDJun22.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 176px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9imM1_0dI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/jK2mU67D2Ew/s320/EURUSDJun22.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350103290761695698" //abr /Third on the list is British Pound / Japanese Yen (a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxMzI5?end"GBPJPY/a). a href="http://www.stocktwits.com/u/pipmaestro"Pipmaestro/a has been peppering with short trades but the daily trend is clearly higher. Supply around £1.62xxs is a chance for shorts to get in top-end; aggressive shorting is likely to occur should £1.55xxs break. br /br /a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9lsy6Zo0I/AAAAAAAAA8Y/fCqiogJ-YBQ/s1600-h/GBPJPYJun22.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 176px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9lsy6Zo0I/AAAAAAAAA8Y/fCqiogJ-YBQ/s320/GBPJPYJun22.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350106702594810690" //abr /The SP (a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxMzAy?end"SPY/a) has been a constant on a href="http://www.stocktwits.com/t/SPX"Stocktwits/a (interesting to see it gather more attention than the a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=Vlc5NjU=?end"QQQQ/as). I haven't changed my earlier call from June 17th; still think it is heading into the $80s. br /br /a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9m7WNmwZI/AAAAAAAAA8g/PW8jNluagMM/s1600-h/SPYJun22.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 176px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj9m7WNmwZI/AAAAAAAAA8g/PW8jNluagMM/s320/SPYJun22.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350108052100399506" //abr /Last of the major follows is the US Natural Gas ETF (a href="http://www.zignals.com/main/quicknav/MenuCharts.aspx?param=VlcxMzMw?end"UNG/a). There is no firm conviction from a href="http://www.stocktwits.com/t/UNG"Stocktwitters/a on how the sideways pattern will resolve. If it was to follow oil's lead then higher is favoured but weak seasonal effects may suppress this. br /br /a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj93P0l7lRI/AAAAAAAAA8o/-9TNDwvmYfg/s1600-h/UNGJun22.png"img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 177px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WWGUfU1tOjI/Sj93P0l7lRI/AAAAAAAAA8o/-9TNDwvmYfg/s320/UNGJun22.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350125996038919442" //abr /br /span style="font-size:80%; color:#cccccc;"Dr. Declan Fallon, Senior Market Technician, a href="http://www.zignals.com"Zignals.com/a the free stock alerts, market alerts, and stock charts website /span/spandiv class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3415040392614486358-8423890034280335945?l=zignalsblog.blogspot.com' alt='' //div

Caution last week crept back into investors’ vocabulary for the first time in more than three months as they weighed the prospects of a global economic recovery and whether the “green shoots” needed more monetary water. As risk-taking moderated, profit-taking on equities and commodities set in after a colossal advance since early March.
The financial debate during the past few days was dominated by President Obama's sweeping revamp of financial market supervision, and this issue also occupies a number of slots in today's Video-o-rama. But the video clips are not all about regulation, as pundits are also trying to figure out whether there are in fact economic "green shoots" and what the implications for financial markets might be.

pStocks are stalling. So says today’s emFinancial Times/em… “Major equity markets came under pressure yesterday and initial gains for commodities eroded as investors cast doubt over the global economic outlook.”/p
pWe see red on our Google Finance screen. And nasty little minus signs. The Dow closed down -1.25% yesterday. The S#38;P 500 fared worse. It ended the day down -1.27%. The yield on 10-year T-bonds dropped too, signaling increased demand for safer havens than the notoriously capricious stock market./p
pWhat’s there to doubt? We were under the impression here at our emstrongNotes/strong/emstrong /strongbunker that the global economy was awash with “green shoots.” Investors have been piling into junk stocks since March. US equity markets are up 37% in just under four months. Why stop now?/p
